March Make Up Haul: MAC, Forever 21, Maybelline, Ever Bilena, Avon Simply Pretty

Hi guys! I'll share a quick update of what's new to my beauty-related collection and life. I've been having a hard time adjusting to my work, imagine talking everyday to irate people? That's the price you have to pay being in an industry that handles billing concerns. It sure is tiring right? At first, I belong to those people who thinks that being in a BPO industry is a no-brainer job. I'm just curious how it feels to work with them so I tried, turns out my experience proved me wrong. Now, I have a healthy respect for agents.

Anyways, my mom went home from Australia and treated me these babies as promised. Seeing them makes me happy (aside from my significant other of course) and relieves my stress. I'll share to you what I got and what my mom gave me. Warning: picture heavy post!

MAC Pink Nouveau & MAC Lickable

MAC Lickable & MAC Pink Nouveau

MAC Lickable is under the Cremesheen formula which provides creamy and moisturizing texture. Lickable is the wearable version of MAC Girl About Town which is not yet available locally, unless you'll pre-order to some online shops. It's a hot pink shade that is sexy and smart at the same time and can be worn by anyone. Just don't leave it in your car or room with high temperature because Cremesheen formula were known to melt easily!

MAC Pink Nouveau is under the Satin formula which provides creamy texture and high pigmentation, provides easy application as well. It's barbie pink color that will surely attract attention and deserves to be praised however, this is not the color that flatters every skin tone. Wearing this lipstick is a little bit tricky though MAC PH claims that this shade is their best seller, no doubt about that!

Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow in Baby Pink & Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Raisin

I'm actually just looking for a stick lip balm because m little sister Nina is so good at not returning stick balms once she put it in her purse. I originally have the Baby Lips in Orange flavor but I saw this cute pink baby! I already have a separate lip balm (Celeteque) but I find it gross to reapply using your finger if you're outside your house plus it's such a hassle right? So i always opt for stick ones. Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow line is supposed to give you a subtle pink color that matches your lip's PH level however, I don't see any changes when I apply it to my lips, maybe I should have bought the bright one, Pink Blast?

Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Raisin is what I believe their most popular shade among bloggers haha. I got curious so I tried and yeah, it gives you a natural flush just make sure to use a light hand and blend it well. I got compliments when I wore this one :)

Avon Simply Pretty Long Lash Mascara in Black and Clear Mascara

Bought this from my co-worker just to try a different Mascara. My first choice is actually their best seller, Avon Super Shock but unfortunately, it's out of stock :( I'm desperate to throw my old mascara away and have a replacement so I got this one. It has a wet formula that drives me crazy because when I rush in applying this mascara, I tend to have spider's legs lashes. It requires you to be patient and use a light hand and it will give you a pretty natural finish. I use the clear one to set my eyebrows after I put on brow pencil.

Forever 21 Accessories

Pretty right? Nuf said ;)

New Hair Tools! Vidal Sassoon & Remington, Urban Colour One Coat Nail Polish

Hello Ladies! I'm so excited to share my new babies my mom gave me! You guys know how much I'm into my hair right? Well look at these pretty ones, aren't they lovely?

Hair Tools:

The colors! Oh my, how lady-like.. :) Don't get me wrong, I loved my JML Flat Iron's performance but Remington's oh-so-good.

Remington Flat Iron - Heats up in less than 30secs, a little bit scary to use because it has a tendency to damage your hair big time. I just run it once or twice and that's it. It doesn't have buttons where you can control the temperature and I dont like the fact that the opening's not wide. I'm having a hard time ironing my hair in chunks coz it wouldn't fit. Do you guys know if there's a lock or something? Also, I like the fact that it is light and suitable for traveling. I can carry it around with me :)

Vidal Sassoon Curling Iron - I love this one, heats up in no time and you can control its temperature in a range of 1 to 30. It also has a brush included to make big and wavy curls :)

Vidal Sassoon Hair Dryer/Blower - I like its cool blow feature if you want to hasten your drying process but the cons are; it only has two heat options (compare to my old pink one with three options) and I can't fold it like my old dryer which I carry around when I'm traveling. It feels sturdy and it has a free shower comb that's huge and matches its color.

Nail Polish: Urban Colour One Coat Nail Polish

I originally have eleven (11) bottles but I ended up sharing it with my sister Chaye since my nail polish collection is at my Mom's place (I live at my Dad's). I'm trying to build a new collection here so I don't have to borrow certain colors every now and then when I need it.

I tried the mint green color first and fell in love with it! My workmate even complimented the color :) It took me three coats to achieve my desired color though, but it's understandable because the color is very light. I'm currently wearing the hot pink and it's way pigmented! One coat is indeed enough but I still put on two coats coz I like it thicker.

Everything came from my Mom and her loving Hubby. I appreciate everything, thanks!

Much love, Nei.

Garnier Light Line

Ah, how I miss writing.. I've been very busy lately because of work. So far it's okay, we're not yet passing through the hardest part of the process but we're getting there. I'm currently typing this entry while waiting for my nail polish to dry haha.

Since December last year, I've been using Garnier Light's Brightening Eye Roll-On and Milky Lightening Dew that works as their toner and I'm very happy with it, I never had a break out which I had with their Light Complete Whitening Cream. I actually have no plans of posting this on my blog but little did I know, opportunity knocked on my door ;)

The company I'm working with gave free samples of Garnier Light Whiten & Protect Moisturizing Cream, Light Complete Whitening Cream and Gentle Clarifying Foam Wash so I decided to post it here and make a partial review of the first two products I've mentioned.

For Brightening Roll-On, I can't see much improvement in my dark circles for I don't have very dark ones to start with.. Maybe I just like putting it on as a part of my skin routine :) dries fast, unscented to very minimal scent. UPDATE: this baby gave me and my sis little bumps/millia on the under eye area :( we immediately stopped using it.

For Milky Lightening Dew, all I can say is it has the weirdest texture and consistency I've ever seen haha! No break outs or redness at all. I like this one and been using it to lighten my acne scars on my cheeks. I'm using the Foam Wash and Moisturizing Cream right now and let's see where this goes. Still using my Yves Rocher at night though and Celeteque wash regularly.

Short post is better than nothing. Thanks for reading and have a great day bellas ;)

Dear Diary: Hair Disaster

I feel terrible. Super. I've mentioned a lot of times in my blog that I am very particular when it comes to my hair, and yesterday I had a haircut and I wish I didn't :(

My hair's very susceptible to split ends because I have thin strands and ofcourse because of other factors too. Me and my sister decided to have a haircut at my trusted salon here in Imus, Cavite but I found out that my hair dresser already left for Australia, therefore we have no choice but to pick different stylist since we traveled a long time just to get there, we didn't want to waste our efforts.

The stylist who cut my hair were the same person who cut me last December 2011, I like the way he cut my hair back then BUT it was super short for my taste (and my boyfriend's coz he prefer long locks)

 December 2011

I managed to grow it longer and had it cut by my stylist last October 2012, and again grew it longer to this..

When he was cutting my hair, I told him to trim 1 to 2inches only and I want to retain the same hairstyle.. When he started cutting out my hair I saw him cut straight more than 2 inches and I almost had a heart attack. I immediately blurted out, "uy ang laki naman agad ng binawas mo". You're supposed to cut it little by little right? But he answered me, "di mahaba pa naman yan". And he continued to cut more of it. Nakakainis lang eh.. pero okay I let him go ahead and do his job kasi okay naman yung una nyang gupit sakin.. But when we're finished, I almost cried because of heart break na ang hirap at ang tagal magpahaba ng buhok tapos sasayangin nya lang :( the thing is, it's layered style is AS IN layered na hindi pantay pantay.. But ofcourse I still gave him a tip, though I regretted giving him some coz it's not worth it. My little sister keeps on consoling me until this morning coz I really feel bad. My sister got a good haircut though and she's very happy about it :)

Here's the picture (when we got to Robinson's Imus on our way home, I didn't have my hair done here):

See that chunk of hair in the center? It's so ugh.. My sister told me to get a haircut again and have it fixed but I said nah, I'll just wait for it to grow first.. Oh also, Palmolive Naturals Vibrant Color Shampoo was supposed to retain the color right? But LOL look. But it's fine.

Bottom line: Truly having a haircut doesn't depends on the name of the salon, or how expensive/cheap the haircut was, but really depends on the skill of the hair dresser.. I guess I'm on a hunt for a new one.

Thanks for reading my rants today :)

Hair Care/Routine: Revlon Colorsilk in Auburn Brown trial

As I've promised, I'm going to share with you my latest Hair Routine! I've mentioned in my previous post that I colored my hair last October and re-colored it again late December 2012.

FYI: my hair is thick enough but the hair strands were very thin. My scalp is oily-but-not-too-oily (do I make any sense? haha). I also have dandruff, but my ends/tips were brittle and dry, probably because of too much chemicals before. My first major hair disaster was when I had it relaxed way back in December 2007, then I did most of my unofficial rebonding at home until I was professionally rebonded last June 2010, followed by December 2010. I was inadvertently relaxed last June 2012 because I was looking for Matrix Rebonding Set but the HBC girl said it was out of stock and handed me this Hortaleza S1 Set. I really thought it was a rebonding cream but ugh, it sucks big time and I suffered from hair fall for months! Like, seriously, whenever I ran a brush through my hair? Pity.

Anyways, I had my first hair coloring session last October, and I only did it at home with the help of my Lil Sis. I used Revlon Colorsilk in Auburn Brown coz I don't want to have a big leap from my hair's Natural Color.

 Natural Hair Color

Inside the box :)

Indoor with natural light

Outdoor

I used TREsemme, GARD and The Body Shop's Rainforest Voluminizing Shampoo and Conditioner for maintenance back then.

I had my hair rebonded again last December 27, 2012 and re-colored it with Cosmocare Natural in Cyclamen. It's a cellophane type of coloring so I'm expecting for it to be "tamed" and easily washed of, but, it came out loud haha! My father wasn't too happy about me having these changes but he didn't said a word anyway.

Indoor with artificial light (haven't washed it yet)

Already washed my hair with shampoo twice and the color's still good. With my Lil Sis and her bf Garret

With my Sis Chaye

Overall, I'm very happy with the results. I just have to trim my tips and bangs to give my hair a body again. Oh, I'm also using this Palmolive Naturals Vibrant Color and Schwarzkopf  Q10 Recharge Conditioner with the others mentioned above.

Also, I'm still using my beloved Matrix Sensoria for hair treatments. I'm actually thinking of getting a Keratin Blowout soon hmm.. What do you guys think?

I guess that's all for now, thanks for reading bellas! Happy New Year!!
